Winners of the Women’s Open Championship at Carnoustie

Women's British Open 2011

Winner: Yani Tseng

Score: 272

Tseng won the first Women’s British Open title to be held at Carnoustie. Her win was her second in a row at the British Women’s Open and was also her fifth Major victory in a glorious 37-month spell stretching back to the LPGA Championship in 2008.

The World No. 1 from Taiwan finished on -16, 4 strokes ahead of her nearest rival Brittany Lang.

The calm and tranquil weather over the week helped her tame the course. 'I love this course. I love links golf and this is a great place to play it' said Tseng.

'This feels very special. I am very happy and very appreciative. I mean it’s wonderful, especially winning on this golf course, in the home of golf. It’s an honour for me to be part of this.' – Yani Tseng

Women's British Open 2021

Winner: Anna Nordqvist

Score: 276

Swede Anna Nordqvist arrived at Carnoustie, a two-time Major winner, but had not had a tournament success since 2017 and had dropped out of the top 50.

She left as one of only three European women to have won 3 or more majors.

Playing in the final game with Nanna Koerstz Madsen, they reached the 18th hole, both 12 under par with three others on -11 in the clubhouse waiting for a slip. Madsen did slip to a double bogie, but Nordqvist kept her cool and sunk her par putt from 2 inches.

'Carnoustie is such a great venue and it’s been one of my favourites since I played here in 2011, and for us to be able to come back here I think is amazing and hopefully it’s not the last time the British Open comes back here.' – Anna Nordqvist
